Ansley's 11 months old! It's hard to believe that we'll be celebrating her first birthday with a party at the end of this month. I remember being pregnant this time last year and thinking that she could come any day. I was still teaching, so the idea was a little frightening, but I desperately wanted to meet my baby girl. The sweet little baby that I could feel rolling around in my tummy as I was sitting at my desk (with the heating pad on my back) while I prepared the students for the TAKS test they were about to take. I remember thinking that the walking around and "actively monitoring" the test would surely put me into labor. But somehow it didn't. She was still a few weeks away. If you had told me then, I would have thought it was impossible because I felt like I was so huge and the baby couldn't possibly grow any more. But she did...and that's all for another post.
As I type, she is in her crib crying because the only nap she's had today is one at 7:30 this morning and it's now 5:09 pm. She's suffering from her second cold and possible ear infection (planning to take her to the doctor tomorrow). She is also getting the next two top teeth. I've tried rocking her several times today, but she won't go to sleep and just starts cracking up when she looks at me. Then she wants to play with my face and try to put her pacifier in my mouth. I guess I'm just too distracting, so I hope she'll give up and finally go to sleep.
Here's what's new:
-Two more top teeth
-Down to nursing once a day
-Wearing 12 months clothes
-Walking more, but prefers to crawl to get around quicker
-Had to get cabinet locks because she's started pulling stuff out of them
-Loves to hide stuff like toys and her pacifier
This headband and flower lasted all of 15 seconds.
It's been a LONG day!
