We're getting the hang of it!

Ansley did so well with the cereal tonight. She was actually opening her mouth in anticipation of it and swallowing a good bit of it. I can't believe my little girl is growing up so fast! :)

More cereal pics

Ansley's first taste of cereal

We got permission from the pediatrician on Monday to try out cereal and that's what we did last night before bed. She did pretty well with it, but seemed a little confused by the texture. We're also sleep training Ansley to sleep in her own crib and sleep through the night. She got all out of whack with our travelling, so it's important for her to get back into a routine. She only woke once to eat last night, then went right back to sleep until 8:00 this morning. I was SO thankful to get some sleep. I walked in this morning to find her awake and smiling...I just had to take a picture.

Our fabulous night out

We had so much fun with our friends on Friday night going out to eat at Texas Roadhouse and to watch Aaron Watson. He's one of my favorite Texas country singers. He just seems like a great guy who gushes about his wife, family, and God. No one in his band drinks while on stage, which I think is a great statement and is rare in the Texas country world. I can't believe we stayed out so late, though. By the time we got home at 1:30 and I had checked on Ansley (who was sleeping in her big girl bed...she's been in the pack n play in our room all this time), I was ready to get some sleep. About the time my ears had quit ringing from the loud music and I had fallen asleep, I hear Ansley waking up to be fed. The next morning my mom and I had our massages and it was wonderful. This has been such a fun weekend!

The Life of a Stay-At-Home Mom

I'm SO excited about tomorrow night. My mom is coming to watch Ansley while Jeff and I go with some friends to eat and see Aaron Watson. It's going to be wonderful to get away with my husband. We did this last week with my parents...we went to Richardson to see Tuna Does Vegas while my mother and father-in-law babysat. It's so important for my sanity to get out of the house and do grown-up stuff every once in a while. Mom and I are going for massages Saturday morning and leaving Jeff in charge of Ansley.

Here are some more photos of my precious Ansley Grace. Have I mentioned that her swing is my best friend?

Another milestone...she's rolling over!

Ansley started rolling over on her own almost two weeks ago and now each time she's on the floor it takes only a few seconds for her to roll to her tummy. The problem is that she hates being on her tummy and she can't roll back over yet. So, she fusses until I help her to her back. Speaking of fussing, she's been pretty fussy for the last couple of weeks. I think that she was really ready to get home after all of the travelling we've been doing over the past two months...and so was her mom! I never thought I'd miss home so much, but all of our stuff is here. Her swing is what I was looking forward to getting home to the most. She's beginning to calm down now and we have her 4 month appointment in a couple of weeks. I really think she's starting to teeth too. I know it's early, but I've looked online and found out that babies can start the process around now and won't actually get the teeth for a few more months. But she's drooling uncontrollably, chewing on anything she can get in her mouth, and gnawing on her pacifier. What else could it be? Here's what else is happening with our sweet little girl: -smiling SO much. My favorite time is when she gets up in the morning. She's all smiles and is such a morning person. -making adorable squealing noises. This is when I know she's really happy. -screaming in the carseat in her loudest unhappy voice. -grabbing her feet and trying her hardest to get them in her mouth. This is how she started rolling over. -touching our faces. Last night when I was rocking her to sleep, she reached up and started playing with my mouth and giggling. SWEET! I love this little angel so much.

Frio River Fun

Well, we made it to the river yesterday and there's not much water in it. We went down this morning to sit in the little bit there is and Ansley really enjoyed it. But, we've decided that there's no point in trying to float. Here are some photos of the trip so far. More to come...

Another photo shoot...

Yep, we had another photo shoot today. These are not Ansley's favorite times. She'll only cooperate for a few minutes, but Elmo Live kept her attention for a little longer. I just pulled that and Teddy Ruxpin out yesterday. She's only three months old and we already have toys all over the house. Maybe Grandpa will build us a toy box! We sure could use one... On to the Frio River tomorrow. I'm bringing the camera and I'm hoping to get some cute pics of Ansley in her new swimsuit. She's already outgrown her other one...this girl is growing like a weed!

4th of July and Skeet Shoot

It's been a crazy past few days! Early in the week Jeff, Ansley, and I went home to prepare for the 4th of July festivities. Everyone got to Scurry on Friday and we had a great dinner that night. Saturday morning we got up early to go to the Rosser parade and then went back to the house for another amazing meal. After naps for the kids, we made it to the back pasture for the annual skeet shoot. It was unbelievably hot and sticky...you'll notice from the photos that Ansley had to shed her clothes. Nonetheless, it was a great time. We ended the night with a fireworks display in Scurry and a little watermelon. It was all pretty tough on Ansley, though. The poor little girl was worn out! She's slept all night (and when I say all night, I mean from 9 pm to 6:30 am) all week. She only has four days to recover because it's on to the Frio River on Friday!!!
